Ain't Long Yet

Come on PEOPLE!!!! Get motivated.  You ain't getting any younger.  It is 4 weeks until we get to laugh at all of the people that we grew up with but can't recognize any more.  Of course, I haven't changed at all. I still recognize myself when I look in the mirror.  What happened to every one else is beyond me. Each morning I enjoy combing my hair, (i still have it), wrinkles are minimal if at all, the second chin is tough to keep at bay but I hear the lifestyle lift is cheap, belly fat is always an issue ( I don't drink beer, no one told me about a whiskey belly lol).

I wonder if they reunion team planned us a group ride/caravan/convoy.  Start out at the high school, do a couple of laps around the ponderosa then down to the park and a look through the parking area of the tennis courts, (maybe cry because the high dive is no longer at the pool),  back towards the Pigglywiggly and left on linberg and out to go do a loop around the state line bar, then back in line at the wagon wheel to get a screwdriver at the drive thru. We will leave out the part of heading out to Sardine, the old swimming hole and going skinny dipping. LMAO

I know that this should stir up some kind of memory recollection from some of you. I know that you were all guilty of this parade.

Who are you looking forward to trying to recognize?  That should be a contest.  "Who can identify the most people from the class of 80?"  I am sure Wanda or Tracey will win this one.

Looking foreward to it all.

23 More days.  30 years since I have seen most of you.  30 years, dang yall are old.  Remember at the Homecoming game, we would see people in the bleachers with banners of what year they graduated (Class of 1970)  We thought how old they were.  Yall are old now. LOL  I have 12 more years to reach middle age.  My goal is to live healthy to 120, everyone that I know will already be dead.  I will be rich and lonely.  Thinking about leaving my millions to a cat or a dog.  Before I die, the television will not need a remote, all you will have to do is think about what channel you want it on.

Get Happy

I love you Buster.  You make me laugh so hard.  I can't wait to see you again. I don't know if anyone else besides myself is reading these posts.  I seem to be one of a few that ever comment.  I have wanted to comment on others but didn't want it to be the "Buster and Leslie" show.  Hey that might be one of those shows we just turn to one day with only a thought.

Oh, we're reading these posts! But it's hard to come up with something to top Buster's stories and anecdotes!

I don't have many stories from high school. Wasn't really one of the 'in crowd', and pretty much kept to myself.  I remember my senior year getting to school before the first bell only twice. I had it timed down to the second how long I could sleep in and still make it to school. Also missed 18 days that year. I figured they gave me 20 days, I was gonna take them!

I do remember the VICA trips when we got to go to Nationals in Atlanta. We won 1st place in the display competition. The next year, we had an even better display, but placed 2nd in state. The judges pretty much said they didn't want the same people going to nationals again. State was pretty fun, though. They put us up in a hotel that had X rated PPV movies. I think every room had a charge on their tab for movies that night! I had a terrible headache the night before the competition and hardly slept at all. Almost missed the bus to the competition site the next morning. Felt terrible, but still managed to come in 3rd in electronics.

Oh, I also probably hold the distinction of being the only person ever to DROP OUT of the National Honor Society!

I actually resigned before she could give me the boot....I gave a very touching speech, walked out of her office and straight into the closet!  geesh......I can't remember anything, but THAT I remember!

I didn't know you were kicked out! What'd you do?

I got ticked when they wanted me to clean the graffiti off the walls after school for 'community service'. I always had to go home to take care of my dad. I figured that would count, but they didn't think so. So, I told them I didn't want to be in the NHS anymore. Pretty stupid on my part, but I've never been known for having very good judgement...

our senior year was extremely hard for me. There was a lot going on within my family and with me personally. My grades reflected that the first two 6 weeks.  I had 2 F's!!  I had never made below a B before that... I was put on academic probation and it wasn't handled very well. Seems they didn't care much for what may have been going on outside of school...(just like with you and your dad). I was going to be kicked out, so I did them the favor of resigning....tried to save face, but the walking into the closet thing....well....  :)

Lisa!!!!! Oh my goodness....I'm crying laughing.  Thank you ....thank you for that story.  I love it. Can't wait to get to visit with you in a few short weeks.

I mean the story about the closet, not about the grades etc.

I can't wait either Leslie!!  I had almost talked myself out of going, but then I started remembering the good times and realized we all had our "stuff" to deal with back then. Some just a little worse than others.  I am really looking forward to seeing everybody and swapping stories. See you in a few weeks!!
