I remember Miss Warren's PE class in the 9th grade.  Sit ups, jumping jacks etc.

I remember the creaky floors at old jr. high, wondering if they could hold up a couple of our larger teachers.

Mr. Lyon's 10 grade Shop Class, I can't remember what it was called.  We were all member of the FFA.   Here is the absolute 1 thing that I took from that class that has made me stand out in my craft.  He had us practice cutting 2x4's with a hand saw.  The objective was to be able to cut the 2x4 perfectly square in all directions and leave half of the pencil line.  This is not an easy task, yet simple.  I was able to accomplish the task on test day.  That made the rest of the goals in my life, especially in constuction, more attainable.  I am now a certified trainer for NCCER, National Center for Construction Education Research.  This story and been told and demonstrated many times.

To Mr. Lyons, "I was paying attention."

I think it was called Vo-Ag.  By the way,  Mr. Lyons passed away a few months ago. Keep the memories going.....

I remember falling down those blasted stairs that are outside the old jr high. I believe it was raining and they were slick. Hmmm...apparently that was a pre cursor of what was to come..considering how many times I've fallen! My most vivid memories of high school are of band. Mr. Lambert was relentless. Oh and of seeing joe in his underwear everyday our entire senior year!  I know you gotta remember that Joe!  LOL guess I better explain...the boys changing room was right on the way to the band room down the back hallway...just so "happened" every day joe was changing just as I walked by.

Spit Swapping,

It was nothing back then for a group to be gathered in their circle at break at the Sr. High.  In each circle(click) there would be a bottle of coke being passed around.  None of us worried about drinking after each other back then. Like a bunch of wino's.  Today, no one wants to breathe the same air.

VD Video in Sr. High.

The group that I saw this sex education video with had the distinct pleasure if seeing it just before lunch.  At lunch, no one was talking, no one was eating, all were in a very somber deep dark emotional state.  Then, Joey Davis said very loud, " I am never having sex."  We all busted up laughing, it was what was on all of our minds.

You guys are cracking me up!!!! I have tears in my eyes after reading these posts.  I love it.  Ya'll (that sounds weird to say....people in Iowa don't say "ya'll") keep these posts coming.  We wont have time to get to everything at the reunion so this is a cool way to go down memory lane and all share in it.

OK....I'm going to throw this out there.....Do any of you remember the Christmas tree at the Jr. High?  Someone put a "decoration" on there and the school was a buzz about it. Joey Davis had to explain to me what it was.  That's all I'm going to say and if you heard about it or saw it you will know what I'm talking about.

I remember that! didn't see it before it was taken off, but I remember it caused quite a commotion!

Anyone remember Mrs Tunstall's 8th grade science class and how clueless she was? Like the time Stan Spears and someone else were lighting little pieces of paperon fire, shaking them out, and throwing them on the floor. After a while, the pile caught fire and smoked up the room. They asked Mr.s Tunstall id they could open a window and without ever looking up, she said yes. Never realized there was a fire in the room!

I also remember the spitball wars we used to have in there.

I never saw it either.

Hey does anyone remember riding around and around the sonic and ponderosa on the weekends? I know that you do.  Then around the 8th ave. park. TG&Y?  Do you remember when Tina Milham and I worked at the Sonic? That was my first job. It was so much fun. Boy were there a lot of big jacked up trucks. (What do they call it when they are way up in the air?) It was so hard reaching the windows to put the tray on. I spilled a few drinks on a couple of them. I always thought it was kindof redneck to have such a truck....Now I miss those days and would love for my hubby to have a big truck.  Seems like Jeff Jones had a big truck didn't he. Where is he? Somebody get him on here.
