To Our TEACHERS

I have been all over the south east.  The pick on the lovely sound of my voice and the way I talk and they feel obligated to talk poorly of Alabama.  What I  know to be true is that after getting through Atmore, Alabama's school system, I had a definite advantage over most of the people who walk the face of this Earth  Their exposure to life is so minimal.  I didn't take the college prep courses and I can only imagine how tough a class under Mr. Long or Mrs. Long could be.  I listen to conversations in airports, airport lounges, restaurants, etc.  it always the same, they live their life through watching someone else in a team sport.  If they ever quit measuring Alabama by testing Mobile, Birmingham, and Montgomer, they will find out what I already know.  We just  talk slow.

My first day on a job in Texas, we stopped work for a 9:00 am break, they asked where I was from, one stated, "I went through Alabama once. I just stopped beside the road and took a crap." I quickly stated, "OOH, that is where we got our poem from."  He was stupid enough to ask, "What Poem."  I recited, "Here I set with my butthole flexing, I gave birth to another Texan."  LMAO.  He at that moment realized that he was not up for the game of talking smack with me.
