In Memory

Stella Warren (Farley)

Stella Warren (Farley)

Stella passed away on January 3, 2011.  Her funeral will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sumner, 1401 Valley Ave. E., at 11:00 on Monday, January 10.

Here is note from her daughter, Yvonne, that we received on Jan. 3:

Hi All-

I want to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes for my mom.  She has been so strong and brave fighting cancer over the past 5 years.  However, she is now losing this battle.  Tomorrow she will be transferred to a hospice facility nearby that comes highly recommended.  She is no longer responsive when communicating with her, so the doctor is giving her morphine to make sure she is not in any pain.  She is no longer being fed intravenously as it is no longer a help to her tired body.  Her body is slowly shutting down.  I don't think I will be emailing after this about her condition.  We will be sure to let everyone know about funeral arrangements when the time comes.  I will be checking my email and I am always available on my cell phone. 425-205-5696  Please feel free to pass along the info to others as I am sure that I am missing several of her friends on this email.  She has been an awesome fighter!

Love,
Yvonne

Another note from Yvonne - received Jan. 6:

As most of you have heard by now, my mom passed away Monday night.  She fought until the very end.  And as much as we want to keep her with us, it was time for her to return home to her Creator.  It brings comfort to know that there are many others who were waiting to greet her in heaven.  I'm sure she is having a great time visiting once again with her own parents and brother, Jerry.  We invite you all to come and celebrate my mom on Monday, January 10th at 11am.

Her funeral will begin at 11am at:
St. Andrews Catholic Church
1401 Valley Ave.
Sumner, WA 98390

After the church service, there will be a reception at the church.

At 2:30pm, there will be a short graveside service at:
Gethsemane Cemetery
37600 Pacific Highway S.
Federal Way, WA 98003

Once again, please pass along this information to anyone who may want to attend.

Stella was a dear friend and we will miss her a lot.  She spear- headed the start of the 60's Gals lunches  in about 2004.  She has maintained the contact list and notified us every month of the location and made sure everyone that wanted to be was on her list.

During her 5 year struggle with cancer was a brave and courageous patient.  Always up-beat and looking to the positive.  She has been a huge source of inspiration for her many friends - through the lunches, bunco and "The Glitzy Chicks" Red Hat group.

We love you Stella but are glad you are now in that "better" place.
