I first met Mark Beck behind a building across the street from the school where a few of us would sneak a smoke. Later, I got to know him as a friend- bass player, poker player, leather craftsman (and weed connection) who worked at his family'sbusiness, Beck's Shoe Service, across from the HS annex. We lost touch not long after my (ex)husband Dan Ogden and I split up in 1984. I thought he was too smart to become involved in hard drugs, but they took their toll. It is sad to think of him as gone.
