After a prestigious 30 year military career, Mr. Bublitz became the first civilian assistant chief of police on Fort Bragg. He began his military career in 1974, and served in every leadership position offered to a military policeman, culminating as the provost sergeant major on Fort Bragg.
He participated in major deployments to Egypt, Jordan, Grenada, Honduras, Panama, Cuba, Haiti and Kosovo. In addition to earning the Army Master Parachute Badge, he received four foreign jump wings and the Navy and Marine Corps Parachute Badge. Allyn’s service was characterized by his sincere care for his co-workers, ability to make the right decisions under pressure and innovative solutions to tough issues.
Despite demanding careers, Allyn’s family was his top priority, and he rarely missed an opportunity to create memorable experiences with them. Every road trip was an adventure full of discovery.
Allyn is survived by his loving wife of more than 28 years, Kathy Bublitz of the home; two sons, Matthew Bublitz and Nathan Bublitz; and a daughter, Emily Bublitz, all of the home .
He is also survived by his mother, Beverly Ann Miller; stepfather, Del of Plains, Mont.; a sister, Rae Klepper of Auburn, Wash.; and a brother, Wayne Bublitz of Buckley, Wash.
A celebration of life for Mr. Bublitz will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Smoke Bomb Hill Chapel on Gruber Street on Fort Bragg, with Chaplain Jeff Houston and Chaplain P. Dudley Neal officiating.
