I was looking through my senior class yearbook last night and came across two pictures of Durand that he signed, both times putting his football jersey number 75. I told him my uncle, Ronnie Fuller, wore that number when he played for the hounds in 1975. He got a big kick out of that. I didnt know until I came to this site that he died four years after we graduated. Too many of our classmates are on this list. Rest in Peace Durand.

Durand was a Good Friend. We always had homeroom together so I always started the day off with him, he was always got you in a good mood. I am sure if he were still here he would still be picking on everyone!!One memory I have of Durand was, One morning I went outside and our yard was covered with Oranges and Grapefruits, I never said anything until one day at school Durand ask me about it,so of course he told on himself!!!

I can't begin to tell you what a great guy Durand was. He was my brother in law who loved to mumble little smart aleck comments under his breath. He called every female "Sally". (Any females to whom he did this to just has to laugh when you remember this!) Anyway, he was a very spiritual guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it... and the ultimate jokester who would make fun of you once you got back on your feet again! All in good fun, though because he really was a big teddy bear! He definitely left a huge void in our lives (2/28/88). We have moved on but he will forever be in our memories.

Durand and I went to church together as kids and on up until we were teenagers. He always had to sit behind me in church, him and Ronnie Smith and some times Jerry Herndon. They would spit spit balls in my hair along with the other girls I was sitting with. He was so much fun and yes he called me "Sally" a time or two. I miss you Durand!I hope to see you again someday!

Durand and Ronnie Smith were the first two friends I made after moving to Auburndale. Every memory I have from riding my bike downtown Auburndale to watch the go-cart races, to throwing oranges at things I wasn't allowed to, and yes even spitting spit balls at Pam in church has Durand's smiling face in it. Durand and I stayed friends until I left for the Marines and I was overseas when I got the news Durand had pasted. I have thought about him many times and every memory I have of Durand was a good one. I do miss him.
