AUGUSTA, Ga.- M rs. Renee Pool Russo, entered into rest Sunday, September 15, 2002 at her residence. the wife of Mr. Albert "Al" Russo, a teacher at Langford Middle School. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Andrew Doris Celebrant. Interment will be in Hillcrest memorial Park. Other family members include one son, Parker Russo of Augusta; one daughter; Kelly Russo of Augusta; her father; Dr. W.H. Pool of Atlanta; her mother-in-law; Mrs. Mary Kazuko Russo of Augusta; one sister and her husband; Winanne and Mark Sutherland of Alpharetta, Ga.; three brothers; Gary Pool and his wife; Leslie of Roswell, Ga.; David Pool of Birmingham, Ala.; and Brian Pool and his wife; Mary Ann ofPinehurst, N.C. Mrs. Russo was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Anne Pool and her fatehr-in-law, James Russo. Mrs. Russo was born in Augusta and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She received degrees from the Academy of Richmond County, class of 1975, Georgia Southern, B.S. Education Class of 1979, Cambridge University, Boston, Mass.; Masters Education degree, Class of 1998. She began teaching in Richmond County Public School System in 1979 at A.R. Johnson Jr. High as a Special Education Teacher. She then moved to Lucy Craft Laney High School in 1980 as a Special Education Teacher. In 1995, she went to Westside High School as a Special Needs Teacher, she served as Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach for 2 years and was awarded Westside High Schools Teacher of the Year in 1999. Renee served as a Youth Counselor at Augustas Y Camp during her high school and early college years. During that time she was certified with the Red Cross as a lifeguard. Pallbearers will be Gary Pool, David Pool, Brian Pool, Mark Sutherland, Bobby Kennamer, Daniel Russo and Jeff Howe. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, 706-798-8886.

Renee,

I will always miss you. I just moved back to Augusta and your memory is everywhere.  I still have the decopage that you made for me of the frog!  I hope you are surrounded by the many angels that held your hand helping you to become an angel on earth.
