Cathy L. Cameron, of Chicago, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the age of 37, from a heart attack, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister and aunt and will be remembered by her parents, Ken and Penny Cameron; her sister, Beth (Bob) Pearson; and her nephew and niece, T.J and Rebecca Pearson. She also leaves behind many other relatives and close friends world-wide. Cathy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alex and Lois Cameron of Rockford, IL and her maternal grandparents, Dr. Howard and Cynthia Fike of McHenry, IL. She received her B.A. Degree in French from the University of Iowa and her M.B.A. in international marketing from Northern Illinois University. She was employed by Ideal Industries in their International Division for three years. Cathy was a cherished colleague as a Business Development Officer of the Canadian Consulate General in Chicago for the last nine years. She was a very unique woman: creative, conscientious, generous of spirit, very competent and always gracious no matter the task, how demanding her clients or how great her work load. By her extensive and profound knowledge of the agriculture and agri-business sectors in the Midwest, she won the deepest respect from her colleagues and her enormous range of contacts and clients in both Canada and the United States. She organized the most recent Taste of Atlantic Canada event which was outstanding and judged by all attendees to be the best event that has ever been hosted by the Consulate General. Cathy made better the lives of the people she touched in both Canada and the United States. She continues her spirit of giving by donating her organs through the Trillium Gift of Life Network. As Cathy would have wanted, we will celebrate her life with a Memorial Service on Sunday, June 26, 2005, at 1 p.m. at New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Blvd., in Aurora, IL. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or the Harmony House (cat shelter) in Chicago, IL.
