Rebecca Jane Harwell Tohill, born August 12, 1953 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2018 in Carrollton, Texas.
Becky was born in Oklahoma, but grew up in Texas, living in several different locations including Brenham, Humble, Grand Saline, Burkburnett, Paris, Wichita Falls, and Austin. She graduated high school in Austin, Texas from A.N. McCallum High School in 1971. She attended Southwest Texas State University. In 1974 she began her dream job as a flight attendant for Braniff International Airways. Working for Braniff, Becky was able to travel the United States and Europe. She made lifelong friends, and had many wonderful adventures, including participating in Operation Baby Lift transporting Vietnamese orphans to their adoptive parents in the United States.
In 1984, Becky was blessed with a daughter, Taylor. After Taylor’s diagnoses with Tay-Sachs disease, she spent seven years devoted to caring and cherishing her child. After Taylor’s passing, Becky moved to Dallas to resume her career in the airline industry that lasted 15 years with Southwest Airlines at the Dallas headquarters.
On December 4, 1993, she met the love of her life, Frosty. They were married on February 9, 2002 i Mason, Texas. Together they enjoyed many travels, with their favorites being Alaska and Colorado. Becky and Frosty settled in Carrollton, Texas with their three precious cats, Maceo, Mogwai, and Meow Meow.
Becky lived life always having a positive outlook that stayed with her until she peacefully passed at home, with love by her side. We will treasure our memories of Becky and forever hold her in our hearts and minds.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her daughter, Taylor Leigh Hoffman; a nephew, Patrick J. Chadwick; her parents, James and Barbara Hawell; and Mother-in-law, Ruth Tohill.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Forrest Tohill; step-daughters, Janelle Tohill and Lauren Woody and her husband Matthew Woody; grandson, Finn Woody; her identical twin sister, Susan Chadwick and her husband Michael Chadwick; brother James and his wife Lynn Harwell; brother Richard and his wife Carol Harwell; brother-in-law Jimmy Tohill and wife Vicki; sister in law, Rebecca Tohill Houston and husband David; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service for Rebecca will be on Saturday, February 10 at 2:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel.
