Daryl Wayne Hargrave, age 64, of Leander, Texas, passed away February 11, 2017. He was born on March 5, 1952, in Taylor, Texas, to Homer and Ethel Lee (Carlson) Hargrave. Daryl grew up in Austin, was a graduate of McCallum High School, and was previously employed by Texas Instruments and Solectron. He and Susan were married August 9, 1984. In retirement, Daryl enjoyed camping, fishing, casino trips, spending time with friends, and making memories with his grandson. He was a devoted father, a true gentleman, and well loved by many. Daryl will be remembered for his compassion and kind soul.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Susan Hargrave of Leander; daughters, Ashley Hargrave and fiancée, Kevin Alexander of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, and Summer Hargrave of Bastrop, Texas; grandson, Orion Bellanca of Bastrop, Texas; sister Carol Hargrave of Georgetown, Texas; Mother-in-law Elsie Lucas; brother-in-law David Lucas and spouse Connie; sister-in-law Mary Ann Baker and spouse Kenneth, sister-in-law Pat Ruff; and his beloved cats, Bandit and La Chat. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Hargrave and Ethel "Lee" Peterson, and his stepfather Leland "Pete" Peterson.

The family would like to thank Texas Oncology for their care and compassion in caring for Daryl.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Friday, February 17, 2017, in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , your local Humane Society, or to an organization of your choice that provides services to the homeless.
