Walt Stone

Walton Harold Stone, 67, resident of Buna, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, in Buna,
Texas. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 4:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following and conducted by Don Prather, at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home, in Buna, Texas. Burial to follow on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 4:00 pm, in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Walt was born on February 8, 1953, in Beaumont, Texas, to Tommy and Dorothy Stone.  He was the
youngest of 4 children.  Walt married his wife, Lettie, on October 11, 1974.  He served proudly in the
United States Navy.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was loved by
many.  Walt had a wealth of knowledge on Jesus and History, which he shared with others often.  He
was known for his love for his family, his ability to bring light and laughter to any situation, and his
willingness to help anyone in need.  He never met someone he couldn’t befriend.  His life was dedicated
to his grandchildren, who were his everything.  He loved the Lord.

Walt is survived by his wife of almost 46 years, Lettie Stone; children Anysa Stone of Buna, Texas, and
Cody Stone, of Orlando, Florida; and grandchildren, Connor Caputo, Ysabella Caputo, and Katalina
Caputo.  He is also survived by his siblings Cindy Stone Harris, Brad Stone, and Jeremy Stone, and many
nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him very much.
 
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Dee Stone; father, Tommy Stone; and sister, Sherry
Dee Grimes.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Stone, Connor Caputo, Brandon Stone, Mike Whitton, Corey Whitton,
and Cole Whitton.
