Melanie Sydow

Melanie Sydow, 54, our loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and true friend, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008.
Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Monday in Brown, Owens & Brumley's Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Kenneth Peters officiating.
Melanie was born Aug. 3, 1953, to Vernon and Carolyn Sydow in Cuero. She attended UT-Arlington, where she received her bachelor's degree in psychology. She worked as a financial analyst with Lockheed Martin for many years and was a volunteer with CASA and Heavenly Horse Haven. She also did extensive volunteer work with the Domestic Assault Response Team of the Fort Worth Police Department.
Melanie had a special gift of finding the light in others and bringing that light out to shine. She made friends instantly and touched everyone's life that she came in contact with. She was a true angel living on earth.
Melanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vernon Sydow Sr. and wife, Neddie.
Survivors: Sons, Matthew and Christopher Terrell; Matthew's wife, Kimberly; companion, Sgt. Darryl Horn; parents, Vernon Sydow Jr. and Carolyn Rogas; grandchildren, Elora Jane Terrell, Courtny Marie Terrell and Kylie Sky Terrell; sister, Sylvia Kerrigan and husband, Matthew; and brother, Michael Sydow. She also leaves behind her loving pets, Tsunami and Mariko.
