Reunion Stuff

OK, so is everyone ok with going with Hr. Main hall? If so, we need someone to look into booking it. Also, does anyone know of a place we can get the food catered for a good price or do you think potluck would be more fun?

Lori,

Hr. Main hall is fine with me...whoever originally suggested it, maybe you could get them to book it.  I can call - I guess it would be the parish in Hr. Main.

Does anyone know if a deposit is required?

Potluck is good, and cheaper.  I guess we'll just assign foods to whoever is coming, so we have a bit of everything?

That's my 2 cents worth...hopefully more people will participate...

Cheers,

Lorri B.

Hi Lori,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.  I can look into booking the Hr. Main hall, seeing I live in Hr. Main.  I think the reunion should be kept simple, have a dance from 9pm to 1am, with lots of appetizers (everybody bring something - sandwiches, cookies, wings, dip....), byob, and music from the 90's.  We could post the dance around the area, and invite all graduates from 1990 to 1994, and they must rvsp with the appretizer they're bringing.  Let me know the date to book the hall, and thank for putting in the time planning this reunion.

Best regards, Dotty

Thanks for replying ladies. It's like pulling teeth trying to get people involved! Dotty, Aug. 10 was the date everyone voted on which is a Friday. I'm thinking maybe the Saturday would be better so people are not rushed after work and what not. So it would be Saturday Aug. 11th. Let me know if a deposit is required. I will try to contact David Ghaney to see what he charges to do the music.

I would still like to plan some kind of activity....even if it's a ball game/picnic type thing so that people can bring out their kids and socialize a little more for whoever is interested. I know Chapel's Cove ball field was in rough shape last time I saw it. What's Hr. Main's field like (if there still is one)? Or what fields are kept up in the area?

Thanks again!

Lori

Hi Lori,

I will check into booking the hall for Saturday, August 11th, and I believe the fee is $50 and holds 200 people.  Jody Morrissey from Holyrood also plays music, I have his number if you need it.

With regards to the ballfield/park in Chapel's Cove, we are currently refurbishing that area, so for Summer 2012, that park and field will be looking pretty good!

Are you ok with paying the $50 until I can send you a chq? I will figure out the cost per person once all the details are finalized. Thanks for the music contact. Maybe I'll see what David Ghaney charges then compare them.

That's awesome about the ball field/park! I'm so happy it's being refurbished....lots of good memories from there :). So would we have to book a day there too or do you just show up and use it? Sorry, I've been gone a long time and out here EVERYTHING has to be booked.

Thanks!

Lori

Hi Ladies,

Everything sounds Great and I like the idea of August 11, 2012...Hopefully I can make it home at that time. Also I like the idea of a softball game and picnic for including our own individual famlies, perhaps we should have that Saturday afternoon or the Sunday following.

Potluck would be best and as long as certain foods are designated it should turn out great and perhaps there might be some great chefs among the class of 92..lol

If I can assist in anyway from Ontario, I will...

P.S. David Ghaney is a great idea, rewind in time!!! Blast from the past!

Kind Regards,

Mary

Hi Lori,

I will look after the deposit and let you know if that date is available, and it should not be an issue using the park and field on that Saturday.  When we get closer to that date, remind me to double check with the softball association and town to see if the field is being used that day.

On the left hand side you will see "20 Year Reunion". We need to start getting people to confirm if they are going and the number of people going so we can get a feel for what the cost per person will be. I have already registered myself for 2 people so everyone who knows that they going, please register as well.

Thanks.

All the above sounds great to me.  I asked my kids what they wanted to do and their answers were; Fire and real swimming!!!  Guess, that is what comes to their minds when they think about going home in the summers.  Pretty sure I will be able to make it. YaY!!  I will be home the weeks prior and Karen and I usually plan a night downtown as well...might be fun to relive the Assumption Days..lol

Excellent! See...if we can commit from all the way out here, there should be no problem for anyone else! :)

Hi all, I sent out messages already regarding the date change but I'm going to post it here so that anyone new signing up will see it. I couldn't find anyone to do the music for a reasonable price on Aug.11th. There was an availability for a great price on the 10th so that's what we're going with. As I said, I really hope this doesn't cause any inconvenience. So August 10th, 2012...final date :)

Oh, and please register as soon as possible for your attendance.

Thanks!

Lori
