In Memory

Diana Rio (Pacasum)

She was a popular figure in school
The Musical world was her domain
The piano her beloved
With lithe fingers she caressed the keys to a soft melody
or danced to a pop tune, and segued into a classical piece.

She was a winner.
The district competitions she joined were her stepping stones
to the regional and national stages.
Competing with the best in the country was a dream that was
fulfilled at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1979
Whenever she took centerstage and sat in front of the keyboards Once could sense her passion for music The notes she tinkered on the black and white keys bespeaks of her.

She was not just a winner, she was also a friend to many of us.
Inspite of the success she has had, she remained the same,
Sweet, unaffectedm simple.
Among friends she was impish, gigglish and full of life.
She'd even dance and prance inside the classroom while cleaning,
At times she'd start jamming sessions as lunchtime.
