Veronica Ann Adkins aka Meatball
11/4/1962 11/17/2004
Veronica Adkins went home to be with Our Father and Lord Jesus on November 17, 2004.
Veronica was born in San Diego, CA on November 4, 1962 to Bernice Hyde and Richard Adkins. She resided in San Diego until 1971, where she moved and grew up part of her life in Bakersfield until 1983 when she moved to Porterville. She enjoyed school, friends and life. She played sports and enjoyed singing and cooking. She was an exceptional Party Hostess. Every holiday, birthday or just family gathering, she would hold special dinners, karaoke and pool parties. She loved to entertain and having family and friends over to her home, where she made everyone feel welcome. Veronica is a Beautiful Person, a very Special Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Mother who has touched everyones heart she came in contact with. She graduated Medical School in June of this year and became the Medical Office Manager for the Sycuan Medical and Dental Clinic. She served on the Sycuan Tribal Council for four years and prior to that she was the Executive Director of the Sycuan Gaming Commission and Manager of the Sycuan Casino Count Room. She also worked at the Porterville State Hospital before moving back to San Diego in 1993.
Veronica will be truly missed by All, but not as much as her immediate family will miss her. She wanted everyone to party and enjoy life when she went home to be with the Father and not to mourn but celebrate her departure. Veronica left behind her mother, Bernice Hyde; father, Richard Adkins and stepmother, Judy Butler-Adkins; sons, Xusha Robinson, Michael Allen, Tevin Allen; daughters, Candelite Billingsly, Tiffaneyi Adkins, Tianne Allen; granddaughter, Samantha Robinson; brothers, Tony Hyde, Xusha Brown and Dartanyan Adkins; sisters, Cynthia Harris, Lucinda Adkins, Andrea Brown, Kawanna Adkins, Sekenna Adkins, NaSharra Adkins, Monique Adkins; nephews, Michael Pettiford Michaels, Clayton Pettiford, Keith Wright Jr., Felton Carr, Justin Brown, Terrence Brown, Quincy Brown and Samuel Hollins; nieces, Pilar Pettiford, Queenette Pettiford, LaShunna Davidson, Erica Brown, Candice Brown, Rolena Hyde, Justina Hyde, Joanna Hyde, Yvonne Hyde and Alexandra Hyde and great-nephews and nieces.
Services will be held Friday, November 26, 2004, at the Choice Christian Center Church, 760 W. Palm Ave., in El Cajon, California. Immediately following the services, Veronica will be escorted to the Sycuan Reservation to the Immaculate Conception Church for her Wake and her burial will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

VERONICA
How sadden I am to read that a very dear sweet classmate has passed. Although we didn't stay in touch I am deeply touched by your passing. We take for granted that we will be on this earth forever and in doing so we loose contact with those that were once in our lives.
My prayers go out to you and your family. I didn't realize you left so many people that I know misses you deeply. You had grandchildren as do and I couldn't imagine leaving mine behind. I know they truly miss you.
I could go on and on but it hurts my heart.
I'll see you when I get there! I know you're with God because I know he called you home. He needed your help otherwise why would he had called you home so early.

I too, was saddened by the startling news of Veronica's passing, she was such a pure soul, really sweet, I feel blessed to have known her. For comfort I know that she has left a piece of herself inside and outside each one of her children and grand children. May the good Lord continue to bless her family in every way. RIP.
