"Proper Dress" was found on page 2 of the Patterson Press, dated May 13, 1960

"Correct personal appearance is a vital part of our school life.  Dressing properly for school is important because it serves as a basis for correct manners in later life.  It is a habit that should be started early.  It is an indication of good breeding and a help in attaining the aims for which we strive so hard.

Girls look neat and feel comfortable in skirts and sweaters, dressed up with collars and scarfs.  Although sweaters look attractive they should not be worn too tight not too large.  Neat cotton blouses are fine but sheer ones are definitely not for school.  Full skirts look fine without the hoop.

Make-up is fine when applied lightly and correctly formulated for your complexion.  Too much can do more harm than good.

Remember the look of simplicity is the mode of dress for each and every Pattersonite."
