Like so many of us, Jim was born and raised in Highlandtown.  He lived on McElderry Street and spent a great deal of his free time in Patterson Park playing football and baseball.  Athletically Jim was very talented in almost every sport and in later years became a swimming enthusiast.  Beyond that he was just a nice guy - and I remember him.

At Patterson, in 1961, he was on the Varsity football team when Jerry Pfeifer and Dave Pivec were co-captains.  There is a team picture of him (in our yearbook) standing between William Kalbfeisch and Colon Thacker.  He was also on the Varsity wrestling team.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Business from Oklahoma State University, where he was also on the football team.  He became a successful business man and executive and at one time headed a maritime division of a tire manufacturer.

Jim died of cancer at his Fallston, Maryland home in 2007.  He was 63 years old.  May his soul Rest in Peace.
