As I mentioned in my profile, Larry was a good friend, always there to listen and give a hug when you needed it. He was a peer counselor, good actor and could always make me laugh. He and I kept in touch after high school up until I received the sad news he committed suicide in Fall of 1993. I was living in NYC at the time and hadn't spoken to him in a few months (not for any particular reason, life had just gotten busy w/my new job out of college). I'm not sure why he decided to end his life. It's too bad because he lent a lot to those he loved and this world would be a better place with him in it. If he were living today, I know we'd still be good friends. Rest in peace. Love ya, Jen
I still think about Larry regularly because I drive past the cemetery where he is buried on my way to work. Unfortunately, Larry was the first person I was close to who succumbed to the terrible grip of drug and alcohol abuse. His mother, who also suffered with these problems, took her son with her into the deep hole that he was unable to get out of. Having suffered with the problems of alcohol addiction and depression I feel very lucky that I have the amazing life I have today. I wish he was still here to share it.
I was close to Larry right up until he died. We even attended St. Mary's together. He had issues of a pharmaceutical and emotional nature that became worse as the years elapsed. He possessed too much feeling for this dimension.
