Dottie was a friend of mine since elementary school. She could throw a "dodge ball" harder than most of the boys in the class. I also remember her ice skating at the cemetary pond in Woodlawn. She loved dancing at teen center and swimming at Milford Mill quarry. Dottie followed in her brother's footsteps and became the girls varsity lacrosse goalie at Woodlawn. Her brother Danny was the varsity lacrosse goalie at Milford Mill.  After high school, Mary and I often double-dated with Dottie and Mel to the Dinky-Dollar dances at the Dixie Ballroom at Gwynn Oak Park. They were some good times. We stayed in touch over the years often comparing activities of our children. She actually spent her last week staying with Mary and I before going to the hospital. She was a good friend, and we miss her dearly.

Randy - many of your memories of Dottie match mine as we all went through elementary, junior high and high school together.  I can still see her smile in my mind and hear her lilting voice.  I think of her and speak of her so often and was proud to call her a friend!  Cindy Dahlem Vandermolen

I remember Mrs Doliver in 8th grade science telling Dottie that her skirt was to short, it was a red plaid kilt type skirt.  I thought it was ironic coming from a teacher who was wearing purple elf slippers with a bell on the toe.  Dottie was always cool.

Dottie was a good Friend of mine & will always remember her smile.  Had great times Dancing at Teen Center in Woodlawn & Milford Mill Pool.  She just lifted us up with her upbeat personality.  I last met & talked with Dottie when she tried to talk me into coming to the HS Reunion before the last one.  She was always the same wonderful person & miss Her.  Why does it seem the best were taken before their time ?  Steve Balco

I didn't meet Dottie until Woodlawn, we were instant friends, played Hockey and Lacrosse together, enjoy Young Life, danced at Milford, Woodlawn and Qwynn Oak Park I was in her wedding, always enjoyed her company and friendship. She had the most giving upbeat spirit, always grateful for everything she had, loved her boys, was a hard worker and a dedicated friend. Before she left us Jane Mahoney, Darlene Gayhardt, Iris Tickler, Mary Russin, Mary Wachter, Bryn and myself had Fall weekend B&B together at my home Jane flew in from Florida, Darlene from PA, Mary Wachter from Columbus Ohio and many friends phoned to help make the weekend very special. It was Halloween weekend we enjoyed the beautiful colors outside, sat on the porch drank wine, told stories, used the hot tub enjoyed precious moments of memories past and dreams for your boy's future. I will treasure those moments and visions forever.

So many memories I have of Dottie and the wonderful friends I met as a result of her warmth, Randy and Mary Russin, Bryn, Danny, Pat, Kathy Schilling, Darlene, Jane, the list goes on, she never missed an opportunity to have fun, make new friends and share her life. I miss her she lives in my heart, each year as the leaves begin change her smile and voice become very clear. Blessing to her family and all those who loved her!
