Steve served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam in 1969 - 1970. After he got discharged, he went to flight school and got his private pilot's and crop dusting licenses. Steve was married to Janine Smith and had 3 children. He died in a crop dusting crash around 1997 in Arkansas.
