Dave really loved Camel Club parties. Hell he loved any party that had 10 plus KEGS. He would always be the first in line with his extra-large cups. If there was a bottle beer to be opened Dave would use his personal bottle opener, his teeth. Every morning Buffy Hoffmeester(85), Greg Suire (87) and I would pick him up in my 1978 Ford F150,Black with white pinstripes step side, chrome roll bars, fog lights. Dave would reach into the glove department take out his Copenhagen and take a dip to wake up. We would listen to a little AC/DC or Head East and get ready for our 45 minute drive from Old Jefferson to Lee Drive. After coming back from one of John Evers parities traveling about 60 mph on I-10 heading back home, Dave wanted another beer to cap off the night. He opened up the door, as we were driving 60 mph down 1-10 grabbed onto the roll bar, pulled himself into the back got us a beer out of the ice chest and climbed back into the cab. If this happend today all hell would break loose. We will always have our memories and never forget. Thanks Dave for being you.
I first met David in 1983 during spring football practice. We became friends right away. We both had a sense of humor and a lot of common interests. We always had an unspoken understanding that whenever there was trouble (and very often there was) we could always count on each other to get involved. David loved camel club parties and also being a Lee High Rebel. He was a Tough SOB with a heart of gold. David & I have birthdays that are two days apart and would always get together and have a few beers and wish each other a Happy Birthday. Today would have been David's 43rd birthday. Every year on July 12th I think of Dave, say a prayer, and shed a tear. Today I miss my friend. Michael Browder
