
Cynthia “Cindy” Dryden Colson, 32, wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and friend, was born September 15, 1973 in Houston and passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006 in a Houston hospital. She was a resident of Baytown, TX, where she graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1992 and was a member of 1st Baptist North Channel, where she sang in the choir. Cindy loved to fish. She was very caring and peaceful and had a gift for counseling people. She had a lovely smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Her family will receive friends at the 1st Baptist North Channel Church, 13817 Force St., Houston, TX 77015, (713) 453-4640 Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be at the church Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Carey Trickey officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Matthews, Tim Matthews, Nathan Matthews, Josh Matthews, Brian Harris, and Steven Hammock.
She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Genny Matthews and grandparents, Ralph N. and Mildred Colson and Lester and Vera Perry and is survived by her husband, Rick Colson and daughters, Ashlynn Nicole Colson and Savannah Denise Colson, all of Baytown; parents, Darrell and Eleanor Dryden of Highlands; grandparents, David and Lillie Dryden of Blanchard, LA, Cleo and Grace Lumkin of Bloomington, and Pat and Vivian Matthews of Victoria; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Alisha Matthews of Victoria, Nathan and Rachel Matthews of Corpus Christi, Josh Matthews of Victoria, and James and Donna Matthews of Katy; her biological mother’s husband, Danny Matthews of Victoria; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gracie and Randel English of Homer, LA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and a host of friends.

Back when Van's Gym was still at Bay Plaza, I would include jogging in Eva Maude neighborhood as part of my workout. Cyndi pulled up in her car. She just wanted to say 'hi." She told me that she lived in the neighborhood. She was married and doing well. That was the last time I ever saw her. she was smiling. She was always smiling.
