Alan was such a kind and generous friend. He was sensitive in ways not common in adolescent boys. When I talked to my daughter about what to expect for herself from high school boys/boyfriends, so much of what I said, I now realize, was based on the person Alan was to me at that point in our lives. I lost touch with Alan many years ago and I'm glad to read he fulfilled his high school dream of becoming a lawyer and his later dream of becoming a Dad. I am sure he was a wonderful Dad. I'm so sorry we didn't keep in touch, my dear old friend.
Alan and I were buddies in elementary school. I am so sad whenever I hear of someone in our class who is lost. It's that a part of me is lost, too. Alan and I used to play football in his backyard with a bunch of classmates. And we used to make "phony phone calls" to girls in the class-anyone remember? Those were fun times, happy times. They'll be with me forever.

What a great photo! Everyone looks so happy! I was so sad to hear about Alan's death.
While I have not kept in touch, I have such fond memories of my friendship with Alan at
Hilltop Elementary School and then in the High School! We had lots of fun, he was a great
guy and he will be missed by me for sure! Rest in peace Alan!
