Darren Lacy

Darren Lacy, a senior honors student in government/economics at West Brook Senior High School, died on Monday, September 25, 1989.  A native of Beaumont, Darren was born Oct. 11, 1971 an was the son of Larry and Diane Lacy. Darren has a young sister, Lori, age 10 years. He was a sensitive, caring person who was an active member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Beaumont. He served God's altar as an acolyte for a number of years, and his church as a member of The St. Jude's 1989 Confirmation Class. Darren was an attentive listener to his many friends and he had a sincere desire to help others who were going through difficult times. Among his special interests were music, especially guitar. He played both acoustical and- electric guitar and had a preference for classical music. Darren loved both snow skiing and baseball. He was an outfielder on the West Brook Junior Varsity baseball team. Darren enjoyed photography and was staff photographer for "The Bruin", West Brook Senior High School's yearbook.  He was also a newspaper staff member of the "West Brook Times". Darren worked part time at Eastex Laboratories- where his father is the Director of Business.

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Diane; Sister, Lori; paternal grandparents Howard and Deane Lacy, maternal Grandmother Genevieve Luke, great Grandparents, Reid and Lavelle Lacy; aunts and uncles Penny and Chris Archibald, Linda Hague, Pat and Bill Stonecipher, Sue and James Wilson, Marian Stilton, Jennifer and Craig Luke.

Darren's funeral will be celebrated today, Thursday, September 15th at St. Jude's Catholic Church 6825 Gladys, Beaumont at 4 p.m. followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Joe Bandy, Michael Patton, Pat Phelan, and Reed Richardson.  Representatives of the 1989 St. Jude's Confirmation Class will serve the altar and present the pall during the funeral Mass. Pray for Darren's eternal rest for the comfort of his family and friends. May God hold Darren in the palm of His hand for all eternity.
