In Memory

Esther Mary Kalish Cox, 82, of Beaver Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Providence Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ester was born in Beaver Falls, Pa., on Friday, March 12, 1943. She is the daughter of the late Merrill and Margaret (Oliver) Kalish and a 1961 graduate of Beaver Falls High School.
Esther worked at Geneva College as a financial aide assistant for 50 years. She never met a bingo card she didn’t like, and enjoyed the gamesmanship of bingo and certainly a scratchy or two.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald A., her daughter, Leigh, and her brother, Edward Kalish, who are all sorely missed.
Esther is survived, by her daughters, Suzanne (Dale) Cable and Robin (Tom) House; her grandchildren, Kassie (Chris) Mielecki, Jourdan (Chris) Koutsavlis, Madison (Ryan Wyatt) Cable, Nicholas Ceriani, and Trae House; her great-grandchildren, Ignatius, Emilie, Leah, Logan, and Abigail; her three nieces, Debbie, Donna, and Mary Jo; and her furry best friend, Ryry. She will be missed by her bingo friends as well as all of her friends.
The services for Esther were private.
The GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010, was honored to care for Esther and her family during this difficult time.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and aides at Providence and Suncrest Hospice, especially Toni Smith and Jodi from Providence and Shar and Sarah from Suncrest, for taking such great care of Esther. She loved the new friends she made during her time at Providence.

My deepest condolences to Esther's family. Esther was a very friendly and personable gal. So sad to hear that she is gone from this earth. I'm sure she is in a better place. Bernie Pokropski Cymbor

It is always sad to hear of another beloved class mate leaving us/ and the picture posted from high school brings back so many memories of sharing those years at Beaver Falls High School. I remember Esther always smiling and when I think of her, I think of a very sweet, kind person and I know she has impressed everyone that knew her for all her life as a friend and kind person. Esther is now with her husband and at peace.

As everyone apparently knew, Esther was a very friendly and sweet person—I am just another to testify that Esther always reflected those traits. I first knew her as a neighbor who moved directly across Clayton Rd from our classmate, Bernie Luger, whose sister, Suzie, became friends with Esther. Often when I visited Bernie, Esther was there with Suzie. In recent years Esther and I occasionally talked by phone. One topic that stands out in my mind is that one of Esther’s daughters played basketball for Notre Dame. While Esther was clearly pleased, she clearly also held her pride in check--I had to pry details from her.
All my interactions with Esther over the years were enjoyable, but brief. I will miss her.
