Kristy Nace Amonett, 44, of Ottawa Hills, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 8, 2015, surrounded by family, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

The beloved daughter of Lyn (Brody) Nace and John Nace of Beaver, Pennsylvania, Kristy was born on June 27, 1971, in Rochester, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Beaver Area High School, where she was valedictorian, and went on to Princeton University where she graduated with an AB in Psychology. There she was on the novice crew team that won 1991 Eastern Sprints and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. It was there that she met her future husband, John Amonett.

After graduation she worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland for two years and then enrolled at the University of California, Davis for a Ph.D. in Neuroscience. It was during this that she and John began dating and married in 1999.

In 2000, Kristy began the vocation that would be her life's work as the couple welcomed the first of their four children, daughter, Morgan, followed by Abigail, Zachary and Lucie. Kristy and her family lived in a number of cities, most memorably Melbourne, Australia, before settling in Ottawa Hills in 2008. There, Kristy was active in a number of community organizations, including the Ottawa Hills Moms Club, Green Bear Ball and as a volunteer at Ottawa Hills Elementary School. She and her family are members of St. Pius X Parish in Toledo..

Friends and family remember her fondly for her competitive spirit, devotion to her Catholic faith and love of family.

She is survived by husband, John; daughters, Morgan, Abigail and Lucie; son, Zachary; parents, Lyn and John Nace; brothers, Jon Nace of Rochester, PA, Michael Nace (Sandy) of Tega Cay, SC, Patrick Nace (Frauke Frahm) of Sewickley, PA and nieces, Franziska and Gwendolyn Nace of Sewickley, PA. She was the daughter-in-law of Tom Amonett (Clair) and Judy Amonett, both of Houston, TX.
