James Edwin Rankin 58 loving husband, father and grandfather of Richardson, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 in Lewisville, Texas. He was born on February 6, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio to Werner and Theda Rankin. He graduated from Beaver Creek High School in Beaver Creek, Ohio. Mr. Rankin served proudly in the United States Air Force where he met his wife in Fort Sumter, South Carolina. He then received his bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Wright State University and continued on to earn his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Mr. Rankin was preceded in death by his father, Werner Roland Rankin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Theda Rankin, mother-in-law, Christine Turner, sisters and brothers-in-law Janet and John Jones, Joyce and Richard Deringer, Danny and Alice Turner, his wife of 35 years, Brenda Turner Rankin, Daughters and sonsin-law, Kathryn and Michael Brannon, Karen Rankin, Mary Beth and Kyle Wright, grandson, Lake Alexander Brannon and nieces and nephews, Andrea and Erica Deringer, Tammy Bailey, Shawn Folk, Lee, Paul and Carol Turner, Charlie Livingston and Allison Strible and numerous golfing buddies, friends and loved ones. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson.
