Thomas Norris - Class Of 1967

NORRIS, Thomas R. Age 57, of Xenia, OH, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2005, at Kettering Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Norris, his mother-in-law, and father- in-law, Ola and Clifford Campbell, his brother, Norman L. Norris, a nephew, Christopher Norris and a niece, Deanne Smith. Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary L. (Campbell) Norris, of Xenia; his mother, Irene Mae Norris, of Xenia; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jamie Norris, of Xenia; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Tony Wassom, of Xenia; a sister, Caroline "Carol" and husband, Kenneth Smith, of Xenia; two brothers, Charles A. "Bud", and wife, Ann, of Xenia and Roger E., and wife, Jeri, of CA; a brother-in-law, Bud Campbell, of Xenia; his granddaughter, Gracie Lynne Norris; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives. Tom was employed at WPAFB for 35 years as an engineering technician during which time he received several awards. He was a member of Xenia Lodge # 49 F.& A.M., 32nd Degree Masons, Valley of Dayton, Ormus Grotto #51, and was active with Job's Daughters and DeMolay serving as a Chapter Dad for several years. Tom was involved in scouting as a Weblo leader and was active with the X.W.A.R.N., D.A.R.A., and the Hamvention, where he served as the chairman of inside exhibits for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. Tom was a graduate of Beavercreek High School and attended Sinclair College. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME, BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 P.M. on Monday, November 14, 2005. Masonic and Scottish Rite Ring services will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Monday. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Beavercreek Class of 1967.
