David Phillip Thalman, BHS class of '67 age 62, of South Russell, passed away
Nov. 6, 2011. He was the loving husband of 36 years to Lois (nee Ziherl); father of J.D.
(Kristen) and Bradley Thalman; grandfather of two week old, Hailey Thalman; and a very
good friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Thelma Thalman
of Dayton. David was president of Troy Oaks Homes and Residential Club in Troy. He was
an active board member of the Ohio Manufactured Home Association. David was a
longtime resident of South Russell and Hunter's Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bonita
Springs, Fla. David was an avid golfer and enjoyed the company of his many golfing
friends. His proudest accomplishment on the golf course was his hole-in-one he made July
11, 2006.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Stroud-
Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 South Franklin St., Chagrin Falls. Graveside services will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Evergreen Hill Cemetery. Those wishing to
attend should meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made
in David's name to the Geauga County Jobs and Family Services, 12480 Ravenwood Drive,
Chardon, OH 44024.
