Richard Sutter

SUTTER, Richard K. Age 75 passed away Tuesday September 19, 2017 peacefully. He was born on February 4, 1942 in Miami, FL to the late Kenneth and June Sutter. He graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1960 and then Ohio University in 1966. Richard met and married Sally in 1963. Richard served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Throughout his life he served his family, who consists of his children, Christina Meta, Sarah June (Mike) Breitner, Richard Kenneth II, David Jacob; grandchildren Carlynne Shea Sutter, Austin Michael Breitner, Richard III "Tyler" Sutter, Cassidy Sage Sutter, Emma Charlie Marie Sutter, Noah Mason Breitner; great-granddaughter Amelia Rhea Sutter; and sister Sally Campfield of Winter Springs, FL. During his life he worked in sales, achieving the highest honors from companies such as Xerox, IDI, GE, AGI and Thrivent. In addition, he started his own company, Sutter Industries which did government contracting and a pool business on the side. In his later life, he started his own financial planning company, R.K. Sutter Financials LLC as a CFP. Richard was a long-time Freemason, a proud member of Brookville Lodge # 596. He was also a member of Antioch Shrine, a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and a Kentucky Colonel. He also served his community as a member of the Rotary Club of Vandalia and past-president. Richard was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Vandalia, where he also presided as president. A Memorial Service will be held 4PM Saturday September 23, 2017 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. Dayton OH 45415. The family will receive visitors 2PM until the time of the service. Interment will be 9:30AM Monday September 25, 2017 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West 3rd St Dayton OH 45428.
