FAYETTEVILLE — Michael Ray Burns, of Fayetteville, left this earthly life to enter his heavenly home on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Born Feb. 6, 1953, in Huntington, the son of the late Sylvester Ray Burns and Rosetta Lee Phelps Burns. Mike was an instructor of broadcasting for the Raleigh County Board of Education and a substitute teacher for Fayette County. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Oak Hill. Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Burns; his son, Andrew Miller Burns and wife Nellie Marie Burns; two beloved grandsons, Eli Miller Burns and Isaac Morgan Burns, all of Fayetteville; and a loving circle of extended family, cousins, brothers and sisters in Christ, co-workers, and friends. His remains rest at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1435 E. Main St., Oak Hill, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday (today), and where service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Mr. Gene Miller officiating. Entombment will be in High Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Fayette County Public Library of Surprise Valley Youth Camp, P.O.
