It is with great sadness we announce the passing our most loved, Jenna Lee Davis. A resident of Woodbridge, Va., and formerly of Beckley, Jenna died on Sunday, January, 15th, in Potomac Hospital. She was 51 years of age. Born in Huntington on July 8th, 1960, Jenna is the beloved daughter of Margaret Davis Leitel of DuBois, Pa. Her father, Dr. Harold Leitel has preceded her in death. Jenna moved to Beckley when she less than a year old. A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1978, she was baptized at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and attended Memorial Baptist Church. After high school, Jenna attended WVU and graduated from West Virginia Tech in 1985 with a BS in Chemical Engineering. She then began a career with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C., where she worked until shortly before her death. Jenna had earned the title of Primary Examiner and was instrumental in designing and developing the Patent Office’s fist electronic filing system. In addition to her mother, Margaret, Jenna leaves to cherish her memory her life partner, Dan Diehl. Jenna and Dan have one child, Joseph Davis-Diehl, an attorney in Washington, D.C. Jenna was blessed with a blended family of brothers and sisters, Aaron Leitel of State College, PA, John Leitel of Pittsburg, PA, Brentleigh Bowen and Kimberly Leitel of Omaha, NE, and Gretchen Valentin of Honolulu, HI; a large extended family of cousins survive as well as old friends in the Beckley area and Dan’s family, the Diehls. On Friday, January 20th, at 1 p.m. we will remember the life our sweet Jenna with a Service of Remembrance at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Paul Zutaut will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Jenna will then be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. What can we say about our Jenna. She was brilliant, sincere and cared deeply for others. Jenna was passionate about her beliefs and articulate in expressing them. Jenna inspired others to entertain ideas without always accepting them, to overcome obstacles by working hard, and to cherish time with family and friends. Jenna was our Bright and Shining Star. Her memory will guide us on. Condolences may be sent to the family’s guestbook at www.meltonmortuary .com. Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Inc., Beckley.
