Linda was always my idea of the ideal girl. She was pretty, a good student, an athlete, popular, and a good friend. I will always remember the "mini reunion" she hosted. Kay Curry, Sally Robinson and I had such a wonderful time catching up at Linda and Sam's lovely home in the Hill Country.
On weekends when we had a little extra allowance money, Linda and I would go to a riding stable not far from our homes. The stable only provided English saddles. Linda always chose a very tall Thoroughbred to ride. I always picked a “not so tall” paint horse with a peculiarity of confirmation that allowed me to put my hand under the saddle and hang on! We would walk our horses to a pasture out of sight of the stable. Then we would race across the pasture as fast as we could go. Linda always won! Linda was pretty, smart, sweet and one of the nicest people I have ever known.
Linda was very active in our Senior Hi fellowship and Sunday School at Bellaire Presbyterian. I always teased her and she was such a good sport. Linda was universally adored by all of us. I was sadden to hear the news of her death. Dick Hudson
So many nights spent at Linda's house in high school, our Bellaire Pres. projects., her great love--Sammy. Linda and Sam lived in Austin, she worked by his side at his dental practice, raised three boys. They retired to a beautiful home they built near Marble Falls. She bravely fought cancer for about a year, with detailed e-mails to her (seemingly) handreds of friends. At her funeral, the church was completely full. What a beautiful soul!
