Sad moment. Bob was a great friend and we were best friends at Pershing.  I knew his family well and spent many nights at their home and he in mine.  Great sense of humor, strong values, loyal, good athlete and a cherished memory.  Our Mark Twain and Pershing gang included Bob, Eddie Burge, Ronny Mahr, Richie Boehck, Tommy Thiel and I am sure one or two others who slip my memory.  Bob and I wore the same haircut - short, greased, combed forward with a spiked flair across the front.  Too cool.  I think Bob may have still worn his that way. I could not as mine went away.  He suffered much over the last few years with his health.  I miss the 50th reunion - right day wrong month.  Oh well.  The last time I saw Bob was at Molina's on Westheimer with many old friends planny the reunion.  Good bye my friend. You are remembered and missed.

Bob was a friend and always looking to have a good time and fun time. From Pershing to Bellaire whatever he did, and I didn't realize that he suffered to the end. I don't remember seeing him at the reunion but I wish I had as I can remember him like it was yesterday. I agree with Jim he will be missed as he was one of a kind and genuine person not a pretender. He will be missed and I hope that he is finally resting peacefully. Steve Kline

Jim,

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I only knew all tthe guys you mentioned at Mark Twain but when I read all the names it was like a mini-reunion.

Bob was a good friend and great teammate. He was an important part of the success our football team had in winning the city championship our senior year. He had a great sense of humor and I remember he had the "buddy system" well mastered during practice. He will be missed!

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great guy and fun to be around. I realize we are all at the age that more and more of us will soon leave this life, but it is just too early to lose Bob. I understand he suffered these last few years. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Rande

Bob and I were good buddies at Pershing.  I went to Lamar and lost touch.  I have fun memories of him.

RIP, Bob.   Frankie McRae

What a great guy......genuinely nice person. I'll never forget at Pershing how the football players would wear red suspenders on game day. It was a girl's dream to have the privilege of wearing a player's suspenders on the day of a game. Bob asked me one week to wear not only his suspenders but also his LETTER SWEATER!!!  Gasp!  This was one excited young lady!!!  I didn't know him as an adult, but I know he must have been a man of honor.
