Ray graduated from Georgia Tech and immediately went to work for Houston Lighting and Power Co. (which, of course, became Reliant Energy.) , where he worked for most of his career. In the 90's he taught computer at several Houston Community colleges. He is survived by his second wife, who was his secretary at Reliant. He died in the spring of 2011 in Houston.
