Walter became sick (passed out) while playing tennis in Decmber 2003. He passed away in February 2004 after horrible suffering in Rockport, TX. His disease was never proved as hs sons did not want an autopsy. His obit was in the Houston Chronicle. He was actually Walter Clifton Golden, Jr., his eldest son was Walter Clifton Golden III. Both of his sons attended Bellaire and played baseball. He is survived by his wife Jan, and two sons.

He was a very close friend of my husband. They hunted and fished together for about 50 years.
