Rebeca Miranda Rionda passed away on August 12, 2007, after a very courageous battle with breast cancer. She never gave up and always had encouraging words for others. Her laughter and kindness will be forever remembered. Survivors include a daughter, Cristina and a son, Henry Rionda, Jr.

Rebeca, Paul, & I were very close over the past 20 years or so. She was such a kind, caring, & fun loving person. She used to tell me that she was SURE that her son & my youngest daughter would marry one day & we would become "traveling in-laws" because we would travel together & have fun with our blended family! It didn't happen! But we still enjoyed our friendship. My family will always miss her. She called me a couple of months before she passed away to "thank me" for sending out a group e-mail about her approaching birthday & was amazed at how many cards she received from old classmates. I think of Rebeca when I drive up to Glades Day School, when I ride by her old house, and when I see her resemblance in her daughter's face. I think of my dear old friend with awe at the courage with which she lived her life, and the battle she gave cancer as it took her too early to suit any of us who loved her.We will always miss you.
