RE: Armed Service Personnel Posted Tuesday, May 5, 2009 05:18 AM I agree with Mike. Our military brothers and sisters are definitely in need of special prayers of protection. I pray too that they will be filled with the Light of Christ that shines brightly even in the hellish and dark times of war. I love to see pictures of our troops showing compassion and love for the victims of devastation. I believe they have the capacity to act as Christ's hands and feet to lift up and carry the broken and the lost. My son-in-law, Mark, is in Afghanistan, serving our country. At home his young wife is carrying the burden of parenting 4 babies without her husband's help. The families of our soldiers need our prayers also. Have you walked through a Veterans Hospital? There is a great deal of love there. It has a feeling of sacredness to it. Though bearing broken bodies and scarred minds, they seem to reach out to each other, to bear each others burdens. God bless each of the men and women who returned to our shores battered and heavy laden with minds haunted by things we will never see, nor can we comprehend the cost that their brave but fragile souls have paid for our freedom. As I have heard, "All gave some. Some gave all." Thank you for serving our country. Thank you for serving souls in need. Thank you for the losses you have endured to protect our freedoms and our lives. God bless those who gave their lives in service to their country. God bless those who bear in silence their wounds sustained in battle to protect us. God bless our military. May God bless America, her Constitition, and her God-fearing people. DeeDee |
