Me?  We are big Eric  Clapton and Eagles fans -

My husband and I have started going to all the concerts of anyone that  comes close to home. We 'figure' if we don't that  we might  never get to see any as they will die or either we will first ...LOL

I still love the old stuff we used to dance to at  tean town -

I like gospal music too - like the Staple sisters, Sam Cooke, Billy Preston

When it comes to music, I have always preferred the ' Great American Songbook', aka 'the standards' .

I listen to Shirley Bassey, Etta James, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocceli, Armando Manzanero, Simone (Brazilian singer), Charles Aznavour, the music of Cole Porter and Ira Gershwin, Diana Krall ... to name a few.

Have had the pleasure of seeing Shirley Bassey more than ten times...would see her another ten times if I had the opportunity.

Music. Thank the Lord for music. It's amazing what it can do for the soul. My grandchildren love to hear me "sing crazy" in the car. We'll take any ole tune and sing off  key  or with deep or high voices. Tons of fun.

As far as concerts. I haven't been to a big one in years. Back in the late 60's and early 70's I saw some great concerts. Here's one for ya.  Long before BG days, remember Hullabaloo? I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders, Tommy Roe, and Neil Diamond.  On a trip home from California I sat with Bo Donaldson (Billy Don't be a Hero) . Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings was one of my favorite concerts from 70's. I had the chance to go see Elvis the year he died, but passed it up. Went to see Fleetwood Mac in Oklahoma City and my date left our tickets on his dresser at home. I never went out with him again.

Now I really enjoy Beach music. Being from Carolina, there are a lot of Beach Festivals.  I love the Embers, Chairman of the Board, the Holiday Band, and Band of Oz.

I think there is none that you all named that I don't like - about the only thing I cannot stomach is rap or hip-hop and that bridge I haven't been able to cross.

Estella - same here - I am a Cole Porter freak - Ira Gershwin - you name it - one of my favorite old stand by parts has been to do Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes to an audience of whoever I can convince to still come see me. And as for Gershwin I could wear my hat any old way.

I know the movie was not a true biop  - but I liked Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd  in De-Lovely - I think Cole and I must have had some sort of relationship in a past life -

You know a really strange thing? I've been working on a two character show for about a year now about Sara and Gerald Murphy - with me of course as Sara.  What an incredible love story that one was and to have been friends with all of them Scott and Zelda, Hemingway and various wifes, Archie and Ann MacLeish - the Dos Posses.

Hi Ginger,

I am of the same thought, I simply love Cole's music....and yes, we also have a relationship.

In many ways, not just in my taste of music, I think I was born too late....as one of my favorite dances is the waltz.

What can I say, at least now my body has caught up with my soul...*S*

Great news friends. Tomorrow night at the country club the Band of Oz (one of my favorite beach music bands) is playing for a foundation fund raiser for the hospital. It's actually a beach party theme. Yours truly will be there shagging the night a way with some co-workers and friends.  Wish you all could join us. LOVE IT!!!
