Laurence (Larry) Pierce
August 30, 1944 - March 1, 2019. 
 
A much loved husband, father, and friend, Larry T. Pierce, 74, passed away peacefully on March 1,  2019.  He was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Carlos.  He graduated from Carlmont High School in 1962,  In 1964 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving three years during the Vietnam Conflict.
 
Larry met future wife, Judith Farrar, in San Diego; they married in 1966 and lived in Redwood City for two years before resettling in Southern California.  They moved to Norco in 1976 and lived there for 25 years, raising their two daughters, Catherine and Georgianna.
 
Larry worked as a supervisor/shipping manager for a truss manufacturing company in Southern California for 40 years.  Larry and Judy moved from Norco to Hemet in 2001, before a final move to Queen Creek, Arizona in 2018.
 
A life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Larry served as Commander of Post 7138 in Norwalk from 1974-1976. He had a huge passion for fishing and fast cars.  He was rebuilding a 1953 Studebaker, affectionately referred to as "The Beast."
 
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith (Queen Creek, AZ); daughter Catherine Yoakum and son-in-law Mike Yoakum (Suisun City, CA); granddaughter Shelby Yoakum (Felton. DE); grandson Tyler (Darrian) Yoakum (Honolulu, HI); brother Kevin (Kathleen) Pierce (Laguna Hills, CA); and sister-in-law Barbara (Jim) Moore (Queen Creek, AZ).
 
Larry was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Georgianna Lee Pierce (1971 – 1992).
 
A gathering of family and friends took place at VFW Post 9223 in Riverside on March 23, 2019.
 
Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Larry's name.
