I last spoke with Charlie at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, in 1963.  I was standing in line outside an on-post theater with friends waiting to watch a movie, To Kill a Mockingbird, I think.  We were both in the Army at the time.   He told me he had just arrived there.  I don't recall which unit he was in, but it wasn't mine.  I never saw him again. 

I believe I read  in one of the local Peninsula newspapers that he died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Alaska (circa 1976).
