I remember Pat as kind and fun girl I shared many classes with in my four years at Carlmont.  Never had chance to really know her , but now I regret not making an effort to.. I am saddend by this news , I expect she is smiling from heaven on all her classmates. Godspeed Pat.

Mr. "Rusty" Reed, our music teacher insisted that I play a drum solo for the girls choir one day. He was "showcasing" me with pride since I had won several Command Performances from the judges in competition.

I remember being embarrassed since I didn't like grand standing. Pat approached me afterwards and had nothing but compliments. She told me that her father was a professional drummer and that he had heard me play Doubling the Downfall of Paris at the Band-O Rama. She said that he was impressed with my abilities. I wonder if she knew how much that meant to me. It was a tremendous boost to my flagging confidence. She was a very kind, cheerful and thoughtful girl. I will always remember her just that way.

Vince, what a wonderful comment about Pat!!!   That is so neat.  We need more people like Pat around.  Thanks for sharing!!  Likewise, I always enjoyed our drum section.  Do you remember the band compeition we had at Stanford?  We were all out in the grassey field, waiting for something, and who comes marching in, but the Stanford band, with the most incredible drum beat we ever heard.  Right away, you and the other drummers, picked it up, and started playing it.  It was so cool.  It was a drum beat I had never heard before, nor have I heard it since.  Do you remember that?  And if you do, you need to play it for us at our 50th.  Tom
