Larry loved anything to do with flying and achieved part of his dream as Airport Manager of the conversion of Mather Air Force Base to the public Mather Airfield. He was especially proud of accomplishing this UNDERBUDGET! We would sit on the deck of his parents' house in Belmont and watch the fireworks as the entire country celebrated his birthday. He only attended Carlmont for two years (not a 13 year Belmont schools lifer like me), but he had many friends and was a close friend of mine for a long, long time.
