Memoriam of Nancy Yanowitch - Class of 1972

I met Nancy during our first semester in the fall of ’68 in our UCC course taught by Professor Bink Noll, the poet.  I remember that she was very articulate and was the only person in the class who had already read Plato’s Republic!    She did her Field Term at the Mayo Clinic interning on the Adolescent Psychiatric Unit.

When I saw her again 2-years later, she was living in the Music House & was inspired to play music with all its residents. After Beloit, we got married and lived in College Park, Maryland and attended graduate school.

I took a job that included a great deal of travel and unfortunately, we got divorced.  I stayed in touch with her and her family over the years and continue to see her brother Michael.  She had a very successful healthcare consulting career, including several years as a partner of Ernst & Young.

She then retired in New Hampshire with her husband Jim.  He died in 2003 and she enjoyed retirement and taking care of her beloved horse 'Alice in Wonderland'.  (See Photo)

Nancy was a very bright, talented, and loving person.  Unfortunately, she died of cancer in September 2011.   She is survived by her stepdaughter Cristin, her stepson Sean and her brother Michael.

Thanks for sharing this remembrance/obit and the photo, Ron. It sounds like Nancy had a good life, if way too brief.

Hope you're well,

Bill

Thanks for sharing this Ron. I had a mini reunion with Nancy, Patty Bolz, and Nancy Remley in Maine in the early 2000s. We had such a wonderful time laughing and remembering our senior year living together. Sadly, Nancy Remley has also passed. Patty remains a dear friend.
