Clive R. Monroe, Jr. 1955 - 2011 SHAFTSBURY, VT Clive R. Monroe Jr., 55, a resident of Shaftsbury, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington following a long illness. He was born in Bennington, Nov. 22, 1955, son of Clive R. Monroe and the late Marjorie (Peterson) Monroe. Clive received his education in Bennington and was a 1973 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. Clive was employed as a manager at Price Chopper in Bennington and Amherst, Great Barrington and North Adams, Mass. He loved to hunt and fish. He also collected model airplanes and old movies. His family and grandchildren were his main interest. Survivors include his father, Clive R. Monroe of Woodford; two daughters, Erika Bailey and her husband Christopher of North Adams and Erin Tatro and her husband Michael of Stamford; four grandchildren and a grandchild that is due in August, Matthew and Abigail Bailey of North Adams, Mass., and Hannah and Carly Tatro of Stamford; a sister, Marilyn McConnell and her husband Matthew of North Bennington; a brother, David Monroe and his wife Susan of Pownal; a special friend, Pam Fielding of Shaftsbury; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends may call at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday May 24, 2011 from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Clive R.
