
Kevin Ahearn
1956 - 2014 BENNINGTON Kevin J. Ahearn, 58, a longtime resident of Bennington, Vt. and more recently of Wilton, N.Y. died Monday, Dec. 1, at the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga, N.Y. following a courageous battle with lung disease. He was born in Bennington, Vt. Sept. 5, 1956. He was the son of the late John and Helen (Cone) Ahearn. Kevin received his education in Bennington and was a 1975 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. He later served in the United States Navy. He married the former Ramona Foucher on Sept. 25, 2011 in Bennington, Vt. In earlier years Kevin was employed as a painting contractor. He was a member of the Bennington Eagles and the VFW Post 1332. He enjoyed hunting and the horses. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Ahearn of Wilton, N.Y. Four step children, Vincent Corelli of Shirley, N.Y., Theresa Corelli of Sound Beach, N.Y., Mario Corelli of Mastic Beach, N.Y. and Joseph Corelli of Shirley, N.Y., a brother, John Ahearn (Karen) of Bennington and three sisters, Patricia Masterson (Joseph) of Narragansett, R.I., Julianne Roy (James) of Bennington and Kathleen LaCroix (Andre) of Loxahatchee, Fla.; two aunts, Frances Anglin (James) of Walpole, Mass. and Caroline Parker of Bennington, Vt. along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered. The burial with military honors will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Kevin J. Ahearn may be made to the Alpha 1 Foundation through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201. All members of the Bennington Eagles are asked to meet at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday at 6 p.m. to conduct their service. The VFW Post 1332 will conduct their service at 6:30 p.m.
