Wendy Chapman Turner 1957-2011 Wendy Chapman Turner lost her 20 month battle with lung cancer on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 at age 54. Wendy was residing in Largo, Fla. Wendy was born on January 6, 1957 in Bennington, Vt., to Wells Chapman and Thrya (Kiki) Levin Chapman. Wendy attended local schools and graduated from Mount Anthony in 1975. She furthered her education at the University of Vermont before moving to Florida. Wendy was employed for Auto Trader Magazine. She enjoyed traveling and the numerous car shows she attended for work. Wendy was in a Management role at the time of her passing. Her dedication and top sales achievements earned her favorable recognition and praise during her tenure there. Wendy met her best friend and soul mate Michael Turner in 1994 and they were married five years later. Wendy and Michael have four beloved dogs, their children. Wendy and Michael's passions were time spent modestly traveling, watching movies, cooking and simply being with one another and their dogs. In August 2009, Wendy was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Wendy was determined to battle the cancer with a vengeance and that she did. She tried many treatments as a patient at Moffit Research Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Wendy established a link on the Caring Bridge website which was followed closely by so many loved ones. She never gave up, never stopped fighting. At the time of Wendy's passing she leaves behind her husband Michael, and their 3 pups China, Chili, and Noel. One of their precious pups Moe passed away in July 2010. Wendy also leaves behind her Mother Thyra (Kiki) Bushee of Bennington, Sister Peggy Semmons and Peggy's husband Dan, and their three children Rachael, Mary and Bucky of Clearwater, Fla., Sister Kelly Chapman of Bennington, Husband Michael's parents and Wendy's In Laws Dick and Rita Turner of Canada, as well as numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins to include Nephew Max and Lifelong friends Dorothy Buxbaum of New York City , Robin Winegard Hadel of Maryland, Robin O'Dowd Greenslet of South Carolina and Debby Niles Suates of Nevada. Wendy was predeceased by her Dad Wells Chapman whom she adored. Also predeceased Grandparents Reubin Levin, Lulu Themelis, Catherine Coyne Chapman and Kenneth Chapman. Wendy was very much in control of her life right until the end. She fought her disease with dignity and flair. Your journey has begun 'Our Wendy.'
