1956-2014 CAMBRIDGE, NY Samuel C. Hulbert, 56, a resident of Jerome Drive in Cambridge and formerly of Bennington, Vermont passed away Tuesday February 4, 2014 at Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Granville, New York. Samuel was born in Bennington on December 3, 1956 the son of Carl and Nancy (Jordan) Hulbert, Sr. He attended local schools and graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School. Samuel worked for Fairdale Farms, the Benmont Corporation for many years, Eveready, Catamount Environmental in Wilmington and for Monument Dairy farms for nine years in Waybridge, Vermont. Samuel loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping and walking. He enjoyed four wheeling and mud bogging and was a NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was a Miami Dolphin football fan and enjoyed listening to classic rock music. He cherished times spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Samuel is survived by his wife the former Gertrude Hurley of Cambridge, New York whom he married in Middlebury, Vermont in 1992, his father Carl Hulbert, Sr., of Florida his son Samuel Becker, step-sons Paul Gordon and his wife Sheila of Cambridge, New York and Shannon Gordon of Bennington, brothers Venet Hulbert and his wife Jennifer of Bennington, Carl Hulbert, Jr. of Bennington, Roy F. Jordan and his wife Karen of Germany and Gerald James Hulbert and his wife Penny of Rutland, Vermont, his sister Hope Miller and her husband Paul of Cambridge, Massachusetts and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Hulbert. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Samuel C. Hulbert will be held Monday February 24, 2014 at 6pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vermont. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be private.
