John Ames

I worked construction until an accident in 1972. Farmed with in-laws for a while which lead to working for a farm equipment dealer in the '80's and '90's. The dealer sold out to a Caterpillar (construction equipment) dealer in 2001, where I started as the branch service manager and eventually became the southern region service administrator. In 2010 three of the branch stores were closed due to a crash in the construction industry. Since then I've been riding the recliner and watching our granddaughters skate with the Roller Derby, they will both be skating for team USA in Barcelona, Spain in July 2019. Other than that we hope to spent most of our time traveling in the RV when the wife retires in a few more years.

I'm not to proud of my time at MAUHS but I sure had fun. Probably a good thing I moved to Illinois to finish my senior year. Did manage a couple of years of Construction Technology at Joliet Junior College. I appreciate being included with the MAUHS class of '69, even though I finished school in another state. 12 years of school in Bennington has lots of memories.
